Vehicle Release Requirements & Hours

What you’ll need
We can’t release vehicles without the required documentation. If the registered owner is not available, please call to confirm what applies before arriving.
Personal vehicle release
To release a personally owned vehicle, the following are required:
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID (a passport is accepted)
- Current vehicle registration — registration must be valid and not expired
- Payment method: cash or credit card (processing fee applies)
Commercial vehicle release
For commercial or company-owned vehicles, the following are required:
- Company check (accepted for commercial releases)
- Motor Carrier Permit
- Hold Harmless form completed
- Driver’s valid driver’s license
- Driver contact information
Belongings pickup
Personal belongings can be picked up by the registered owner during normal business hours.
Removed items cannot be physically attached to the vehicle, including (but not limited to) items that are bolted, wired, or otherwise secured to the vehicle.
Important notes
- Release requirements and fees may vary depending on the account, agency, or hold type.
- Police hold: must be released by the holding agency before we can process release.
- After-hours releases: subject to gate fee and availability — call first.
